MACAU AND HONG KONG

The Bloggster had a fine time in China, even though I was there with no less then three different typhoons and despite the fact that it was raining during most of my stay.. The former Portuguese colony of Macau was especially interesting. It has a population of about 650,000 people and attracts about 20 million tourists each year. 90% of these visitors come from other Chinese cities . Most of these people come to gamble. Macau is the world's top gambling earner. Even the gambling industry in Las Vegas is smaller then the gambling industry in Macau.. Unfortunately I did not have the time to even see a single "hungry tiger". ( the chinese expression for a "one armed bandit" ie. a slot machine. ) When I return to Macau I will be sure to set aside some time for visiting at least one casino.
