I discovered a very interesting place that is only about a two hour trip away from Tokyo. ( about an hour by train to Kurihara in Kanagawa prefecture and than an hour by ferry to Chiba prefecture. ) Nokogiriyama-Saw Mountain - is so named because it was home to a very big quarry. Tokyo Station, the emperor's palace, Tokyo University- you name, it they all have stones cut from the mountains of Nokogiriyama. The place has terrific scenery, two very large stone statues, and over 3,000 small ones. Posted by Picasa
